Router Password recovery steps
⒈ connects the console port of the router to the terminal or PC emulation terminal. Connect the PC's serial port to the router's console port with a direct connection without modem.
⒉ displays and records the value of the configuration register with the show version command, usually 0x2102 or 0x102. If you can't get a hint with the show version command, you can view a similar router to get the value of the configuration register or try it with 0x2102.
⒊ power off the router and then turn it on.
⒋ the break key in the first 60 seconds of boot, you will see the "" "Prompt (no router name), if you do not see the" "" prompt, you do not issue a break signal correctly, you can check the terminal or simulation terminal settings.

To change the password (in the case of password encryption), follow the steps below:

(c) If you have made the Enable secret XXXX, execute the following command: Type config term and type enable secret press ctrl+z; If you have not made the Enable secret XXXX, type enable password. Press ctrl+z;
(d) Type write mem commit save changes; If you delete the configuration, type write erase.
⒑ Type config term at the router# prompt.
⒒ type config-register0x2102, or type the value that you recorded in the second step.
