Quantitative management is a development trend of project management. For testing, it is very helpful to manage and improve the measurement of testing costs, results and benefits. You cannot manage what you cannot see and understand, and for understanding testing, you must collect and track test process and test validity data.
In general, the basic data that we need to measure during the testing process includes:
. Test workload and cost data;
. Test task completion status;
. Test Scale Data;
. Test result data, including defect data and coverage data
With sufficient measurement data, managers can better adjust the testing basis and provide reference for similar projects in the future. However, one thing to note: measurement cannot be used for personal or organizational assessments!
