5.1 three elements of time

The MRP system can plan the priority and control the whole manufacturing process, because it has some different understandings and processing methods on the concept of time and the traditional manual management. MRP is an information management system that focuses on planning and control, and uses the ratio of planning to control as a neural system for enterprise management.

 

5.1.1Planning Period

Various products have different cycles from receiving orders from customers to completing delivery. In order to control the entire production process of a product, the planned span must cover the entire production cycle, which is usually called the overall lead time. The length of different product plans varies according to the manufacturing cycle, which is a variable. If the entire process is cross-year, the planning period should be more than one year. The planning period can also be called the "Planning outlook period". The actual meaning is the planning SPAN or planning period.

With the concept of the planning period, in addition to helping to control the entire process of product production, it will also help us to understand and manage the product lifecycle, and help us to develop long-term strategic product development goals.
