The Atom Editor cannot drag a continuous column selection without adding a plugin, and you can select the row to edit only one line after the shortcut key is pressed.
The shortcut keys that add rows to a selection and remove them from the selection are:

Ctrl + left mouse button Sublime text column edit mode

Drag the mouse to select continuously

Shift + right mouse button

Use mouse to select (add to Selection)

Ctrl + left mouse button

Remove rows from a selection

Alt + left mouse button
