At present, broadband routers have been widely used by the masses. Here we mainly introduce the solutions to common problems of broadband routers. Among SOHO and small and medium-sized enterprise users, broadband routers are widely used. For some network beginners, some faults not involved in the Instruction Manual are sometimes difficult to cope. Below, I will analyze some common faults and problems and provide solutions.

1. Unable to establish connection because the line is disconnected

1. Connect the WAN port of the router to the ADSL Modem using a network cable, and connect the telephone Line to the Line port of the ADSL Modem. The connection between the ADSL Modem and the Broadband Router should use a direct line.

2. Check whether the Link light signal in the LAN of the Broadband Router is displayed and whether the connection from the Broadband Router to the LAN is normal. The lanport of the Broadband Router can be directly connected to a computer or a vswitch.

Ii. Incorrect network settings

View the manual and find the default Management address of the Broadband Router. For example, if the default IP address of the Broadband Router is 192.168.1.1 and the mask is 255.255.255.0, connect your computer to the LAN port of the Broadband Router, you can use either of the following methods to set an IP address for a computer.

1. manually set the IP address.

Set the IP address of your computer to 192.168.1.xxx (the range of xxx is 2 to 254), the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0, and the default gateway to 192.168.1.1. When using the residential broadband access method, make sure that the internal IP address allocated by DHCP is different from the IP address used by the residential area.

2. Use the built-in DHCP server to automatically set IP addresses.

1) set the TCP/IP protocol of your computer to "automatically get IP Address" and "automatically get DNS server address ".

2) power off the router and your computer. First power on the vro, and then start your computer.

Iii. ADSL dial-up failure

Open a Web browser and enter the management address of the Broadband Router in the address bar, for example, 192.168.1.1. At this time, the system requires you to enter the logon password. The password can be found in the product manual. On the Management page, select "WAN Port Settings" under "Network Parameters". In the main window on the right, select "PPPoE" for "WAN port connection type ", enter "Internet account" and "Internet password", and click "Connect.

4. Unable to connect due to MAC Address binding by ISP

Some broadband providers have bound MAC addresses on the authentication server to limit the number of connected users. At this point, you can first connect the computer bound with the MAC address to the lanport of the Broadband Router (but the router should not connect to the Modem or the wiring provided by the ISP), and then use the MAC address cloning function of the Broadband Router, copy the MAC address of the network adapter to the WAN port of the Broadband Router. In Windows 2000/XP, press "Start> Run" and enter "cmd/k ipconfig/all". "Physical Address" indicates the MAC Address of the local machine.

5. After accessing the internet for a period of time, the system will be disconnected. After the router is closed, the system can be connected again.

1) Too many DHCP servers in the network cause IP address confusion. You must disable all DHCP servers in the network and manually specify the IP address or retain only one DHCP server. These DHCP servers may exist in Windows 2000/NT Server, ADSL Router, And ADSL Modem.

2) this type of router is incompatible with the local device of the ISP. This type of problem only involves switching to a vro or ADSL Modem of another model, and then check whether the problem is solved.

3) poor heat dissipation of routers and ADSL devices. If the Internet connection is normal, the network speed will decrease after a while. If the device is very hot by hand, the speed of the device will be normal, indicating that the heat dissipation environment is not good.

4) check whether all connected computers have worms or Trojans. Use the antivirus tool and Trojan scan tool to clear viruses or Trojans from your computer and then connect them to the network.

6. Why does the network fee far exceed the estimated cost?

If you are a non-monthly subscription user, you can select "On-Demand connection" or "manual connection", and enter the automatic disconnection wait time to prevent the connection from being lost and wasting the Internet time. If the hourly fee standard is adopted, the Broadband Router should be set to "on-demand connection", and the waiting time for automatic disconnection should also be set, that is, when there is no Internet access request within the specified time, the vroadsl can automatically disconnect the ADSL connection.

7. Why can I use QQ and play games, but cannot open webpages?

This problem is caused by DNS resolution. We recommend that you manually set the DNS server address (the IP address provided by the ISP terminal) on the Broadband Router and computer Nic ). In addition, in the "DHCP service" setting item, manually set the DNS server address, which needs to be obtained from the ISP supplier.

8. Forgot the password for logging on to the vro Management page.

Some Broadband Router devices are followed by a Reset button. pressing this button for several seconds will restore the default configuration, and the user name and password for logging on to the Web will be restored to the initial values respectively.
