Summary of the ACM/ICPC semi-finals Xi'an Station

This is the end of my first game. I feel a lot and have a lot of feelings!

I. Preparations

I have really been in contact with ACM during the summer vacation. I can say that I am the last person to practice ACM in my team. I am very grateful to my teacher for believing that I have let me go out for the competition. This is something I never imagined. I don't want to let down the trust of the instructors. I tried my best to create two or three questions in each division two or three weeks before the competition, hoping to find the feeling of the competition before the competition.

On the way to Xi'an, I was always worried about what I would do in my first game. I chatted with HSK and GMC on the road about their province round, think about how to arrange the game and try to make yourself satisfied with the game that you have never played.

Before the start of the competition, I felt that I had already thought about how to cope with the situation on the court. I set myself a goal to successfully win two questions and leave enough time for the third question. To this end, I have prepared a large number of mathematical formulas and brought all the algorithm books I have read to the store. I knew that my knowledge was not fully prepared, so I tried my best to prepare for the current purchase.

Ii. competition process

Let's talk about the twists and turns of the game. After the competition started, three people started to read questions. I was the first to read questions about combined mathematics. The question was very simple, but I felt that I could not do it myself. LB was the first to read K questions. He said that he could do it. I also started to read K. We quickly unified our opinions and started to think about K. Before the competition, I agreed to calm down and forgot my mind. I thought this was a question of sign-in. I used map to make a storm. In this process, a has started to get people out. I think wym is still reading the question, so let her first look at. K quickly burst out and felt that it would time out. However, I thought this was a sign-in question. I didn't need to use an array to use map. We both saw that we could grab FB and handed it over. Tle... A is getting more and more. wym is still watching. We continue to optimize K and wym writes a on the paper. After writing the paper, she knocked on the machine for her. After five minutes, she knocked on the other side and waited for five minutes... Ten minutes... No results are returned. We thought that a had made a lot of orders, and we switched to k again. After I handed in K again, it still timed out. However, a still does not return results. It has been more than 20 minutes. We can't wait. We asked the referee through PC2 and waited for nearly 10 minutes to get a no response... Let's look at the question a code and find a fatal error. freopen is still there !!! Delete the file and submit it again. (The reason for this error is that wym didn't use PC2. I told her to submit it and forgot to read her code... She forgot freopen as soon as she was nervous .) The things that brought me closer to the collapse appeared later, question a wa. At this time, everyone has come out. I read the code once and found no error. I immediately read the question again. Question A has a long idea. Try to calm yourself down and read it slowly. After reading the question, I found that the question was wrong. Let wym change to... The next time is to optimize the K-question. First, after the timeout, It is wa, and the code becomes increasingly messy. When it becomes unavailable, it is decided to delete all the questions and repeat them... During this period, wym basically looked at the question and did not find that we could do anything. We started to do F for the three of us, and then ended the competition.

Iii. Experience

In the first game, I felt that I was still digesting my feelings. This competition made me fully aware of my shortcomings. The atmosphere at the competition scene is completely different, bringing a different feeling, but also a lot of problems that do not occur at ordinary times. Through the competition, I feel that I spend too little time studying ACM at ordinary times, training at ordinary times is too small, and I have done too few questions, there are too few algorithms or even templates. Next to this competition is the Asian army of Tsinghua. I watched them make a question and finally won the runner-up. I feel that the teams of those powerful schools are not very good people, after training, they are proficient in algorithms and work together to solve the problem during the competition.

In addition, this round of competition, I felt the importance of teamwork in ACM. 1 + 1 + 1> 3.

In addition, unlike this competition, ACM has brought about huge gains and I cannot say it well. Let's quote a famous saying that I often think:

Although, I cannot guarantee to bring everyone who wants to practice ACM into the ACM competition.

However, I can promise that when you are not satisfied with your favorite programming skills, participating in ACM training is the most effective and efficient platform that I can think of to satisfy your desires.

In addition, it can give you more things besides knowledge and skills, such as the ability to withstand stress, the way of thinking that suits the competition, the ability to work with the team, and the ability to not sleep, the ability to think and program while walking on the road, sitting on the toilet, and brushing your teeth.

If you are sad, bitter, pleasantly surprised, lost, or excited, I may not be able to give you even a certificate to give you the most basic comfort.

Perhaps, what you get is just the hands that can fly on the keyboard, maybe you don't find the aura of nature when writing a program.
Maybe, what you get is a little confidence, maybe you didn't realize that you were so calm in the face of the program.
Maybe, when you sit in front of a computer, only the people you see and you know what it looks like.

4. Plans for the next year

I continue to stick to the problem-fixing process. After all, the current knowledge and practice are not yet in place. This competition can be said to be a stage, and the goal will be clearer in the future, ACM has become an indispensable part of my life.

In addition, the competitions on bestcoder, codeforces, and topcode must be sustained, and exercises should be conducted through the competitions. These competitions are often summarized.

I had already arranged many things for myself to learn and do many things this semester. I decided to give up some things through this competition, because ACM is more important to me. This semester is still under a lot of pressure. Level 4, probability theory, and big things are not so worry-free, and I am afraid to continue reading algorithm books in the classroom. If the score is not good, many of the items are in vain and need to be coordinated. After all, these are imminent for me and my family.

ACM is not a tool for finding a good job in the society. ACM has become an indispensable experience, feeling, and feeling in my life.
