Don't know if you've heard of Microsoft Project Oxford, its face API detects faces in images and detects if the person is laughing, his/her gender and age, and the number of facial hairs.

Data engineers combine the face API and get data from GitHub trending pages. This page shows the code repository for a particular language when it is popular. You can also see a photo of the most prolific submitter's profile for these items. Therefore, this tool can get some of the most busy contributors in any given language.

Although the data set used is not very large, it provides some interesting results. Of course the team didn't forget to mention the disclaimer--

"It should be noted that this super-unscientific. You don't know how accurate the face API is, or how accurate a user's GitHub profile picture maps to their personalities/identities. And whether the most prolific contributor's popular code warehouse can accurately reflect a community is unclear. In addition, this is a small sample. ”
