According to Symantec's latest statistics, the number of spam mails from Chinese domain names has seen a spurt of growth recently.
In a report released today, Symantec pointed out that most spam emails contain URLs with the ". cn" domain name suffix. During the period from January 1, July, the total number of spam domain names from China increased sharply from zero to 450.
Symantec said that the increase in the number of Chinese domain names in spam is one of the reasons for blacklisting the top-level domain names in the country sending spam and forbidding them. In this case, spammers are forced to register top-level domain names of countries not listed in the blacklist.
Symantec pointed out that currently spam has presented localization targeting specific target markets.
