System Architecture:

Directory Server (AD DNS): The user account information for the deployment system is stored in the Active Directory.

Lync Front End server (UC Pool): enables system services such as instant messaging, Audio Video master, Web conferencing, and VoIP calls

Lync back-end DB cluster: SQL Server database, (Enterprise Edition required)

Monitoring Archiving Server: to achieve the archiving of instant messaging security features.

Exchang server : Mail server

Edge Server: external users access the internal user Instant messaging system and are also the Communications Server role with the external instant Messaging service.

Reverse proxy Server: implement internal network publishing, such as Exchange Mobile Access, Lync meeting access, (TMG2010 not required)

Mediation Server: responsible for connecting with VoIP gateways, implementing encoding conversions, and associating with voice, media services.
