It can be divided into two parts.

I. Common temporary files

1. Delete the content in the "Start" menu "document ".

2. Delete Temporary Folder content

Path: C:/Documents and Settings/it2/Local Settings/temp (hide the file)

3. Clear cookies of the current user

Path: C:/Documents and Settings/it2/cookies

4. delete the files left after the web page is opened by IE

Path: C:/Documents and Settings/it2/Local Settings/Temporary Internet Files (hide files)

This file can be changed:

Click "Internet"> "general"> "Temporary Internet Files" and click "Move folder" in the "Settings" dialog box ".

Temporary files on webpages are characterized by a large number of files, small folders, and high randomness. This will cause a large number of fragments to your disk system in a short period of time, thus affecting system performance. So it is best to transfer this file to a non-system partition.

5. Delete the historical records of IE browser

Path: C:/Documents and Settings/it2/Local Settings/history (hide the file)

6. Clear garbage bins

Click the "recycle bin" on the desktop to clear it. (Very simple)

7. Clear temporary files (*. tmp) and disk fragment files (*, chk)

You can search, sort, and delete the data.

Some files can also be cleared, *. Old, *. Bak temporary backup files,

1. system weight loss: to delete some junk files generated during the installation process, some files that can not be retained in the system partition can be transferred to other system partitions.

A. Delete the system backup file: Enter sfc.exe/purgecache in the dialog box of the Startup menu.

B. Delete the help files in the system: if you are not familiar with the help, you can delete them if you call the help dialog box during misoperations. Find the % WINDOWS %/help directory and delete all files in the directory.

C. Delete unnecessary input methods in the system: after installing the commonly used input methods, you can directly delete unused input methods. When deleting the input method, it is best to find the % WINDOWS %/IME directory in safe mode and delete some of the directories. It is best not to delete the newly installed input method.

D. Uninstall unnecessary components: When Microsoft's Windows2000 and Windows XP are installed, there is no component selection, unlike Windows 98. You can modify and delete unnecessary components. Find the file % WINDOWS %/INF/sysoc. INF. open the file and replace hide with null. Note that the content to be replaced is a comma and hide. Then, go to the control panel, find the "add or delete programs" option, and run "Add/delete Windows Components" to delete unnecessary components.

E. Transfer drive backup in the system: Do not delete some driver backups in the system % WINDOWS %/driver cache. After deletion, when installing some new devices, for example, when a camera or a video card is changed, some files in this directory will be required. After the files in this directory are deleted, You need to reinstall the operating system to restore them. Because we transfer this directory to a protected disk, such as drive F.

F. Transfer the pack backup file in the system: after installing the SP3 patch, we have a directory of server pack files, which is hidden and occupies a very large space, it is generally 500 or 600 mb. We can transfer this folder, because the files in this directory are required when looking for new hardware After cloning.

G. Delete All temporary files in the % WINDOWS %/TEMP directory and all temporary files in the % WINDOWS %/tmp directory. These two directories are temporary files. Open your browser and delete all temporary files and system cookies in "Internet Explorer options.

H. Transfer the temporary directory of the system: in "My Computer", in "advanced", find "environment variable" to transfer the location of the temporary folder of the system to drive F, to reduce the generation of System Disk File fragments during system running in the future, and improve the system running speed and overall performance.
