Some time ago to test the installation of Microsoft's Windows Server 2008, the recent use of the plan to delete it. Because my PC also has Windows Server 2003 installed, I go to the 2003 directly formatted 2008 partition of the system and then go to the 2003 system partition to open the Boot.ini modify file, according to the normal method. When opened only then silly eye, the document does not have 2008 menu, the prompt is as follows:
;
; Warning:Boot.ini is used on Windows XP and earlier operating systems.
; Warning:use BCDEDIT.exe to modify Windows Vista boot options.
;
[boot loader]
Timeout=30
Default=multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (4) \ Windows
[Operating Systems]
multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \windows= "WINDOWS Server 2003, Enterprise"/noexecute=optin
/fastdetect/usepmtimer
It just comes to mind. The System boot menu is different from the previous one, and now the boot menu is as follows:
Earlier version of Windows
Microsoft Windows Server Code Name Loghorn
It seems that directly modifying the Boot.ini file is not workable. According to the file prompts in the system inside the search for a bit BCDEDIT.EXE can not search, but fortunately can be downloaded online. After downloading double-click without any response, open the CMD window to run and can be executed.
Perform bcdedit/? Can obtain bcdedit help information.
The first time to run the Bcdedit, get the information as follows:
Windows Boot Manager
