Many raspberry players are using software such as WINSCP to transfer files between Windows and the Raspberry Pi. Although it can be used, it is not always as convenient as sharing Windows Network Places.


If you share it with Windows only, you can use Samba to pour it. But is there an easier way for Windows and Linux to mount a shared area on a Raspberry Pi?


In fact, many friends do not know, in order to facilitate the interaction with Unix/linux, Microsoft has been in the Windows system to prepare the NFS client, find "turn Windows features on or off", the relevant tools can be used to open.

Both Windows 7 and subsequent versions are supported, whether on a server or desktop version.


Here are the steps: First set up NFS, my settings, and shared directories on the remote Raspberry Pi.



Then, in the local Windows into Control Panel, open the Windows Features tab and select the relevant component.



The NFS client can be set after the function is successfully opened, such as choosing the TCP protocol or the UDP protocol. In general, when I share video playback, I will select the UDP protocol. Specific how to set please consider yourself.



The difference between a soft mount and a hard mount:


For a hard mount file system, if for some reason the response of the remote system fails, such as the NFS server hangs, the NFS client will continue to attempt to establish the connection, which may result in the execution of a command such as DF to hang dead.


For soft-mounted file systems, in the same case, after a specified interval, the NFS client will discard an attempt to establish a connection and send an error message.


The default is a hard mount file system, and when the system hard mount attempt fails, the response to the user input stops. Because of this, some users prefer to use soft mounts, which will cause the system to stop trying after failing to mount.

Once setup is complete, you can mount the directory on the Raspberry Pi with the following command, mapped to the local X-disk.


Once the mount is successful, you will see an extra X-drive in your Windows system, and you'll find a directory shared by the Raspberry Pi in the click.


The next life from X disk Copy a video to the desktop to see, intranet speed 1.16mb/seconds. It's OK. Of course, you can also paste files inside, read and write can be as good as the Network Neighborhood.
