I have been doing information software and have a lot of insights. Some time ago I suddenly remembered that software products and meals have many similarities. So I wanted to sort out my personal feelings and think a lot, I don't have time to sort it all at once, so I thought about what to write. Today is the first article.

 

Software products are similar to the dishes we eat at a restaurant. When talking about the dishes, many people will think of the colors, fragrances, and flavors of the dishes. Software Products and dishes have many similarities:

Color

The color of a dish is like a software interface, and a good color is like a beautiful software interface. Sometimes I don't know what to order in a restaurant. If a certain dish looks nice on the menu, I just need to order it. Or I can see the waiter give a dish to other tables. It looks good, so I ordered the dish myself.

Incense

Food fragrance is like software operations. software that is inconvenient to operate is like an unpleasant dish. Even if the function is strong, only a few people will use it.

Flavor

A good taste is equivalent to a practical and powerful software function, and a good color is the surface. The most important thing about ordering is the taste. The same is true for software.

 

We compare windows with Linux:

Windows is a colorful, elegant interface, convenient operation, and powerful functions. Linux is not beautiful and inconvenient to operate. Many Windows software cannot find a good alternative in Linux, it can be said that it is colorless and tasteless.

Someone is starting to talk about Linux, who says Linux is not beautiful, who said Linux operations are not convenient, and who said Linux software products are few, you are alone. This debate is not a topic I want to talk about. There are many positive and negative examples, but the fact that there is a higher rate than that of the desktop market is more important.

 

Some people have said that Windows is better in the desktop market than Linux, but Linux is no worse in the server market than windows. Yes, I agree, so why can't a colorful dish beat the colorless and tasteless dish in the server market.

In fact, it is very important to say that in addition to color and flavor, food should also be nutritious.

 

Nutrition

Good nutrition is equivalent to stable and reliable software. Some dishes can be eaten frequently with rich nutrition, and the same is true for software. Even if the system fails every day, it will be useless even if its functions are strong.

Windows is color-sensitive, Linux is colorless, tasteless, but good nutrition (stable and reliable), that is, good nutrition, so that the server market in Linux can be better than windows.

Now is an age that focuses on health care. In addition to color and fragrance, we should also care about the nutritional value of food.
