During any session with ZBrush, you can set the file to be saved automatically , and you can modify settings such as save interval, file save location, and so on. When you restart zbrush® after a system error, you can recover the backup files from the temporary folder or from the specified folder. If you choose not to restore the backup file, the file is automatically erased after exiting the application.
First, in the bottom fourth of the "Preferences" menu, find the "quicksave" option and click to expand it.
The function of each parameter button in the "quicksave" option is as follows:
Maximum Duration (maximum time): How often, in minutes, to save every time.
Rest Duration (Stationary period): The default time if the software is not moved more than (*) minutes, the automatic save is stopped.
Skip History (Skip historical) If you click Highlight, the saved file will not contain information such as history. Only the model is preserved.
Maximum number of files that can be saved in the Max Quicksave files (max saved files) file pool.
Delete quicksave files (delete quick archive files) empties the quick Save file from the file pool.
