Teach you to install multiple virtual portable operating systems on a mobile hard drive

Installing more than one operating system on a hard drive is not only a hassle, but also a difficult problem to maintain with multiple systems. I believe many friends have used virtual system software to solve the problem of multiple operating systems coexist, but the general virtual system software not only need to install, but also more complex configuration. QEMU is a free, green virtual system software that can easily have multiple portable systems with the help of a mobile hard drive.

One, simple settings, Qemu easy to start

First click here to download its graphical run software _qemu Manger (hereinafter referred to as QM). After downloading, unzip the file to "K:\HA-qemuk21-FSYX\QemuManager" (k is a removable hard disk partition), and then run the Setup.exe installation. After running QM, click "Options" → "new virtual Disk", and follow the prompts to establish a 10GB virtual disk file, which is saved in k:\ with the name Winxp.dsk.

Return to the QM window, click the new virtual machine icon, and follow the prompts to establish the operating system you want. For example, you can set up an operating system named 98, then select Windows 98 in the System list and set the memory to 128MB. Then "Drive" select "Existing Virtual Disk", specify the virtual disk file Winxp.dsk you just created, and then click Save Virtual Machine to return to the QM Administration window.

After you have set up multiple systems in the above ways, you can now set the virtual machine startup settings, double-click the selected Virtual Machine pop-up Settings window in the virtual machine list, and click Disk Configuration to set the parameters for the startup.

Second, the system installation, easy to travel

After establishing and setting up the virtual machine, our mobile hard disk has many "bare-metal" (because the operating system is not yet installed), the following describes how to install the operating system, so that as long as the mobile hard drive, we can use more than one operating system on any computer.

All operations of a virtual machine can be completely isolated from the host, in order to track virus hazards, many times to test virus samples, then you can install a virtual machine Windows XP to test the virus.

Step 1: Place the Windows XP installation disk in the optical drive, select XP in the list of virtual machines after starting QM, click the "Use Media Quick Launch virtual machine" icon, and in its Startup options list, select "Boot selected virtual machine from System CD-ROM" (Figure 1).

Small tip:

If you are downloading an ISO-formatted Windows XP installation file, you can select "Use available disc media files" and then select the downloaded ISO file in the Open window to enter the installation.

Step 2: After starting the installer and the common installation of the same, follow the prompts into the formal installation can be seen, the virtual machine's hard drive is not partitioned,

You can install the system as soon as you are prompted to partition it. During the operation, the virtual opportunity captures the mouse pointer, as long as you press the left Alt+shift to release the pointer (Figure 2).

Step 3: The remaining steps to follow the wizard prompts step-by-step installation can be completed in this virtual machine to test all the dangerous operations, if you want to back up the virtual machine as long as the replication Winxp.dsk can be.

Small tip:

In the virtual machine installation system is slow, we can first shut down the rest of the host, and then set the virtual machine memory larger. For example, 512MB users can set the virtual machine memory to 256MB, while placing the virtual disk location on the local hard drive, after the installation is completed and then transferred to the mobile hard drive.

In this way other systems are also installed, so that you can call different systems at any time, if you are interested, you can even install the online off-the-shelf PE system to the mobile hard disk, easy to repair the system after the problem (as shown in Figure 3).
