With Outlook Mobile Information Services, you can easily create text messages and send them to mobile devices via your computer. To send a text message, you must first add and configure an Outlook Mobile Information service account.
• Create new text messages
1, on the File menu, click New, and then click SMS.
2, enter the recipient's e-mail address or mobile number in the To box. To search for recipients in the Address Book, click the To button.
3. Type information in the body of the message.
4, if you want, you can insert the expression icon in the information. On the SMS tab, in the Insert Group, click Expression icon String, and then click the emoticon you want to insert.
• Specify the maximum number of SMS
Each message has a default character limit, which is specified by the Mobile Information service provider. If you type in a text message that exceeds the number of characters in this limit, the extra characters are automatically moved to a new piece of information. You can see in the preview pane The total number of pieces of information that the original information was split into, and the contents of each piece of information.
You can specify the maximum number of text messages to send at a time.
1. On the SMS tab, in the Options group, enter the number you want in the maximum number of messages box.
2. For more information than this number of split information, the extra information will not be sent and displayed as shaded in the preview pane.
• Send SMS
To send a text message that you have created, you need to specify its recipients. You can select recipients from an address book, or you can enter recipients directly in the To box of the information.
1, enter the recipient information.
Do one of the following.
(1) Select recipients from the Address Book
• On the SMS tab, in the name group, click Address Book.
• Select the desired address book from the Drop-down list. You can use any address book, including the Global Address List (GAL), to get the recipient's information.
• Select the name you want, and then click the To button.
Tip You can search for recipient information by typing a name in the Search for box.
• Click OK.
(2) Directly enter the recipient's name
You can enter the recipient information directly in the To box in one of the following three formats:
• The recipient's mobile number.
• Recipient's e-mail address
• Recipient's Last Name
If you enter a part of the recipient's name, you can use AutoComplete to complete the message before sending it.
