Tech Crunch: Launch of IE8, Microsoft's loss of 1/3 Market

Microsoft released Internet Explorer 8, which allows all web browser users to get desired updates: Color tags, accelerator extensions, search and site recommendations, toolbar favorites, slide Web bookmarks, and private browsing modes. He may not be as fast as his competitors, but according to the previous report, it is already a new one than IE7.

But speed is everything, no speed, and all other functions are thrown to one side. You cannot enjoy webpage slide (a series of updated webpages) if the page loading takes too long. If you are concerned about IE's market share, it has been eroded by Firefox, Safari, Chrome, and Opera competitors who are faster than it in the past few years. We have to wait for a new independent test to see how IE8 has improved, but speed does not seem to be its strength.

As always, Microsoft focuses on its huge installation base while ignoring others. Microsoft knows that if you have left IE and used a faster browser, IE8 will not be able to recover you. Therefore, Microsoft has been turning around the Mac platform for a long time, and IE8 is no different. There is no version for the Mac platform, even if Mac has been robbing the PC platform of market share.

According to the Net App data, IE should maintain a 67% browser market, but this share is shrinking. Firefox accounts for 22%, Safari accounts for 8%, and Chrome accounts for 1%. Speed is not their only advantage. Many new features of IE8 are easy to catch up. The rest is not enough for most users to switch back to IE8.

Does Microsoft really care about the remaining 1/3 of the market? It should be so, otherwise the 1/3 will soon become bigger than it is now.
