Test and experience of Tomcat Manager functions

Experiment and experience using the Manager function of Tomcat 4.

1) enable the manager function.

Every restart is very troublesome. I suddenly think of the previously used Tomcat Manager function, which can easily start, stop, restart, and remove web applications, this saves you the trouble of restarting the entire container server frequently.

You can enter the address http: // localhost: 8080/manager/html to indicate that you do not have the permission.
Open the server/webapps/manager directory, and the JSP and Servlet files are not displayed. Is the corresponding management servlet not found? It should define the Web ing in the web. xml file.
The system uses org. Apache. Catalina. servlets. htmlmanagerservlet. This class is in the J2EE. jar package.
Put J2EE. Jar under server/webapps/manager/WEB-INF/lib and restart tomcat.
Prompt message: Because the J2EE. jar package contains servlet. Class and violates the servelet2.3 specification, Tomcat does not load the jar.
Use WinRAR to open the file and delete the servlet directory.
Restart Tomcat and still cannot use the manage function.

There is no way to read the e-help document. The Administrator role had to be added to the conf/tomcat-users.xml file.
Add a row to the XML file,
And grant permissions to the root user.
