Here are the steps:

1. Find MY.CNF

/etc/my.cnf

2. Open it and enter the following command under the [Mysqld] tab

init_connect='SET collation_connection = utf8_unicode_ci'

init_connect='SET NAMES utf8'

character-set-server=UTF8

collation-server=utf8_unicode_ci

Skip-character-set-client-handshake

3. Restart the MySQL service

Systemctl Restart MARIADB
