The RDS full name is: Remote Desktop service, Terminal Services, which is Microsoft's desktop virtualization solution collectively. It consists of six components: Rdcb,remote desktop Connection Broker, Remote Desktop Connection Broker, Rdgw,remote Desktop Gateway, RD gateways, Rdwa,remote desktop Web Access, Remote Desktop Web Access, Rdvh,remote Desktop Virtualization Host, Remote Desktop Virtualization host, Rdsh,remote desktop Session host, Remote Desktop sessions hosts, and RDLs, Remote Desktop License Server, RD Licensing server.

The RDCB is responsible for managing incoming Remote Desktop connections to the RDSH collection and for controlling connections to RDVH collections and RemoteApp.

Rdwa provides users with a single Web portal that allows them to access the Windows desktop and published applications through the portal. With Rdwa, you can publish Windows desktops and applications to a variety of Windows and non-Windows client devices, and optionally to specific groups of users.

RDGW enables users from the Internet to securely access internal Windows desktops and applications.

RDVH provides a personal or pooled Windows desktop hosting service that allows users to use VMS on their own like a personal computer, providing administrator privileges and giving users greater freedom.

RDSH provides session-based remote desktop and application collections that allow many users to use a single server at the same time, but users do not have administrative privileges.

RDLS provides Remote Desktop Connection authorization, which can be either "Per Device" or "per user". A 120-day trial is available without activating the license server. After expiration, the client will not be able to access the Remote Desktop.

In addition to the above RDS components, depending on the deployment model, it is also applied to SQL Server, File Server, Load balancer service, and so on. The prerequisites for RDS deployment are the necessary and sufficient conditions for--active directory!
