　　One, using the wrong image mode

The Action menu turns gray? What's wrong with the color? When you encounter these problems, you should stop and don't edit. These may be problems caused by using the wrong image pattern. Choose Image > Mode from the main menu, and make sure you choose the correct image mode here. If you do not know which picture mode to choose, then choose RGB Mode! Any network picture will display the picture in RGB mode;

The digital image is captured in RGB mode, so it should be edited in RGB mode;

Most of the tools and filters can only be used in RGB mode;

No loss conversion between RGB mode and CMYK mode is not possible. CMYK mode and RGB mode to handle the color of the picture is completely different. CMYK mode is more like the weakening of color. For example, the use of paint tools, in CMYK mode, a variety of color mixing will have a dim effect, and in RGB mode is to become bright.

But if you need to print a picture of Photoshop, should you still not use CMYK mode? This depends on the situation. For pictures, there is basically no need to convert to CMYK mode because they are always saved in RGB mode. Since RGB mode is so powerful, when will the CMYK mode be used? The answer is to print business cards, brochures and other printed matter. Accurate color information can be obtained in CMYK mode, and objects are selected for special inks, such as silver, gold plated and metallic inks. If you choose 100% Cyan and 50% Magenta, the final print will get the color of the printed matter. A lot of printers will tell you the value of black four colors. If you want to get the black four-color printing effect, it may not be black enough. Black four colors will mix all ink to get a darker black than pure black.

CMYK mode is the perfect way to show the color of the sample you picked, which is the biggest feature of its relative RGB mode.

　　Second, set the appropriate DPI

If you want to print a 8*10 pixel image in a 3000*2400 pixel file, why do you still want to set the DPI?

Typically, a 32-point text is smaller in 72DPI than at 300DPI. If you do not set the DPI value of the document, you will not get the desired display effect. For example, if you want to place the PS image of 1*1 in the iphone 6, the first thing to do is to find the iphone 6 PPI (pixel per inch) and set PPI to the DPI value of Photoshop (iphone 6 326PPI). This gives you the perfect display when you put the 1*1-inch picture of Photoshop on the iphone 6.

Accurate matching of the DPI of the PS document with the PPI value of the display device ensures a good display effect.

　　Third, create too many layers

As early as the Photoshop 7 era, people would find it very important to create a PSD document with 100 layers. But if you can't build a perfect layer management system, creating layers too much will only make the layer board messy, and your productivity will be reduced accordingly.

As opposed to 100 layers, minimizing the creation of layers can make the PSD document smaller and more efficient. You can reduce the number of layers created by tools such as smart objects, smart filters, layer masks, and layer styles. In fact, even a single layer, we can do a lot of complex processing operations. So the next time you use PS, try to reduce the creation of layers as much as possible, while ensuring the quality of your pictures.

　　Four, adjust the layer size causes the image quality to reduce

Sometimes we need to process the layer grid and recommend that the layers that need to be manipulated be converted to smart objects before the grid. Because when we adjust the grid layer, each adjustment will degrade the image display quality. If you pull the image up again, you'll notice that the image is blurred. However, when you are in a smart object, you can zoom out of the image at will, and you don't need to worry about the quality of the image display.

Many people recommend creating a layer mask with the pen tool. In fact, the pen tool will still allow you to add layer masks smoothly unless other options are not working. This is not entirely true, however, because the pen tool is used for scenes with no depth, masking vectors and 3D rendering are especially useful. But for the picture, using the Pen tool will make the image like paper cutting.

If you look at a picture in a small pixel, you will find that the pen tool does not appear with the perfect sharp edge. Instead, you'll find that these edges will cause the image's focus and feathering to fade away. Choose a good selection tool, choose to adjust the Edge tool, open the smart radius tool, so that you can automatically capture different sharp edges.

　　Six, reduce the saturation of the production of black and white photo effect

Reducing picture saturation may be the quickest way to design black-and-white photography, but it will lose depth. Instead, try using a black-and-white whole layer or a channel mixer to adjust the layer. Such a method would result in better adjustment than simply adjusting the saturation.

As the following illustration shows, a simple saturated image gives a more prosaic feel, while a black-and-white adjustment layer offers more possibilities.

If you have overly tuned layers, you can also adjust the opacity of these layers to reduce the effect.

When you adjust the exposure and contrast of photos, you may lose the details of the high light or shadow part. The details that may be lost due to the adjustment need to be carefully focused. Sometimes you need to adjust the curve instead of the brightness/contrast adjustment layer.
