I recently prepared to learn MySQL by myself, so I installed MySQL by myself according to the tutorial on the Internet. As a result, I was prepared to uninstall MySQL for some reason and reinstall it. However, the "APPLY security settings error" prompt is displayed in the last step ", looking around for a solution will never solve the problem. Some people say that they should close the firewall, use the unmount package that comes with MySQL to uninstall it, manually clear all MySQL files, Use anti-virus software to clear the registry, but always prompt the error, even before that, an error is prompted. At half past one, I don't know how to solve the problem, but I firmly believe in the power of the network and finally solved it successfully. In view of the miscellaneous information on the Internet, I would like to summarize it here to help those who are equally confused!

For the installation tutorial of MySQL, there is an online step for beginners-MySQL installation, just install it. However, sometimes "APPLY security settings error" is not prompted at the end of the installation, which makes people confused.

In fact, the direct cause of this error is that the file is not completely deleted when MySQL is uninstalled, and all related files must be manually cleared. Here, we will explain that my computer system is windows, and the paths of different system file directories may be different.

Solution:
Step 1: Delete the mysql installation directory, usually under the C: \ Program Files directory.
Step 2: delete the mysql data storage directory, which is generally in the C: \ ProgramData \ MySQL directory (note that this folder is hidden by default, you can view it through-> hidden projects ).
Step 3: Delete the registry data and use regedit to delete the following files:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Services/Eventlog/Applications/MySQLHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Eventlog/Applications/MySQL

Reinstall your mysql program. After the installation is complete, you can check whether mysql has been started in the system service. If not, right-click, click "start" (my computer> "manage"> "services"> "Applications"> "services") to start MySQL.

Hope to help you!
