Xine On Debian does not support video and MP3 bugs-Linux Release Technology-Debian information. For more information, see the following. After the latest upgrade of Debian sid, if X uses XAA acceleration and Composite, it is possible that gxine/totem video players cannot play videos. This can be solved using EXA. It may be for Intel graphics cards only.

Disable the XAA option in the Device segment of xorg. conf, and add:

Option "AccelMethod" "exa"

It seems that this EXA is better than the default XAA acceleration architecture.

At the same time, the latest Debian sid upgrade libxine1-ffmpeg, the other need package unload and no additional dependencies, so all xine-based players can not play mp3, re-install this package can be:

# Aptitude install libmodplug0c2
