The case sensitivity of table names in various databases
Case sensitivity of database table names
My colleague asked me a question about how HighGoDB connects to Oracle. It is probably because the table name in lower case is used when HighGoDB is connected to Oracle, so that the table cannot be found in Oracle.
Let me explain how to handle the case sensitivity of various database table names:
Oracle: After creating table abc (***) is successful, ABC is stored in the oracle Data dictionary. That is, unless otherwise stated, the oracle Data Dictionary stores the table name converted to uppercase.
Sybase ASE: case sensitive by default. Therefore, user. lei and user. LEI are two different tables under the same user.
MSSQLserver: when installing SQLServer, you can select a sorting rule that determines the case sensitivity of the Table.
PostgreSQL: Unless otherwise stated, the PostgreSQL data dictionary stores the table name converted to lowercase.
DB2: unknown.
