The CentOS 6.4 system encrypts and decrypts the root user, partition, and grub.
1. encrypt the root user
[Root @ localhost ~] # Passwd -- encrypt the current user
Changing password for user root.
New password:
Bad password: it is based on a dictionary word
Bad password: is too simple
Retype new password:
Passwd: all authentication tokens updated successfully.
[Root @ localhost ~] #
2. crack the password of the root user
(1) restart the system.
(2) Go to the guided editing mode, and select highlight and press the e key.
(3) Select the boot menu and press e.
(4) Enter 1 at the end to enter single-user mode, and press ENTER
(5) press the B key to restart
(6) After the system restarts, enter the password file and change the password.
(7) view the ciphertext of the root user
(8) Delete the ciphertext of the root user and save and exit
(9) Enter reboot to restart the system.
(10) log on to the system. The root user password is blank.
