First, VMware Introduction:

VMware is a Virtual PC software that can virtual a new hardware environment on an existing control system, which is equivalent to simulating a new PC to actually run two separate operating systems on a single machine.

Main features of VMware:

    1. You can use more than two operating systems on the same PC without distinguishing or rebooting;
    2. The native system can communicate with the virtual machine system network;
    3. You can set and modify the hardware environment of the virtual machine operating system at any time.

Second, CentOS Introduction:

CentOS (Community ENTerprise operating System) is one of the Linux distributions that is compiled from the source code released by Red Hat ENTerprise Linux in accordance with open source rules. Because of the same source code, some servers that require a high degree of stability are used by CentOS instead of the commercial version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. The difference between the two is that CentOS does not contain closed source code software.

Third, the installation of CentOS:

Virtual machine version: VMware workstation_10.0.3

Linux system version: Centos_7 (64-bit)

Physical machine Version: Win 7 flagship edition

Note: I am the beginner, installs the CentOS on the virtual machine, facilitates simultaneously in the Win7 operation as well as communicates with the physical machine, and so on the operation can install the double system.

1, the creation of virtual machines:

Open the installed VMware (if you are installing VMware in English, it doesn't matter, take a seat), select "File---> New virtual Machine", as shown in figure:
Here, choose Customize, and Next:

Select Default, Next:

Select "Third" to install the operating system later, install later to facilitate configuration. Next:

(Note: The first item in the above image is installed with a CD-ROM and the second is installed with an ISO image on the hard drive)

The above figure refers to the plan to simulate an operating system in the virtual machine, select the CentOS 64-bit in Linux, version, and Next:
Enter the name of the virtual machine (optionally) and select the path where the mirrored file will be stored. Next:
The number of CPU cores assigned to the virtual machine is selected, and VMware gives a warning if the number of CPUs selected for the virtual machine exceeds the actual CPU number of the machine. Here you can choose the default. Next:

Virtual memory allocation, generally choose the default 1024MB on line (note: The virtual machine can not allocate more than half the memory of physical memory, and later if you want to use the graphical interface to install CentOS, at least to allocate 628M of memory), Next:

Here is the network type assignment, the network type assignment divides into three kinds, bridge, nat and host-only, probably the difference is

1 Bridge: The equivalent of the host and virtual machine connected to the same hub, virtual confidential and host configuration to the same network segment

2 NAT: Using VMNET8, the host to open the necessary VMware services, such as Vmvare DHCP, virtual machine set to DHCP, of course, can also be manually set to vmnet1 the same network segment, more trouble

3 host-only: Use Vmnet1, direct and host interconnection, you can use Ifconfig view configuration

Here, select Nat, and Next:

Select the IO controller type, select the default, and next:
Select the type of disk you want to create, select the default, and next:
Select the virtual hard drive type, where you choose to create a new one next:

Select the size of the disk space, by default, Next:
Set the virtual image file name, by default, Next:
The creation completes, confirms the virtual machine information (actually can also modify later), the point "completes" can. The following interface appears:
This is our virtual out of a computer, the top red box, you can see the virtual machine hardware information, can also be modified, or click the menu bar "virtual Machine---> Settings", you can also modify the hardware configuration.

Tips for using virtual machines: "Create snapshots" (negligible)

The function of a snapshot is equivalent to a restore, and when we do so, we can revert to the state at this point even if we crash the virtual machine and read the snapshot.

Click the button in the red box above, or select the "virtual Machine--->" Snapshot on the menu bar:
Give the snapshot a name. If you want to restore the snapshot later, click the button in the red box below:
Pop-up dialog box:
Select the snapshot you saved before, and then click Go.

Note: The snapshot takes up a certain amount of memory, and the real server is a feature without snapshots.

2. Install CentOS Image:
First you need to load the CentOS mirror. Select Virtual Machine---> Settings:
Click on "CD/DVD (IDE)", open the Virtual Machine CD Settings page, click "Use ISO image file", select the ISO image file to be installed. Is the Centos-7.0-1406-x86_64-dvd.iso file that you just downloaded. Click "OK":
Then click "Open this virtual machine" to start the virtual machine.

Ps:

After you open the virtual machine, you are prompted with a small error with the following error:

According to the error, set up in the BIOS, here the Intel virtual Tehnology settings can be enabled:
Then reboot to continue the installation. This time, to quickly put the mouse point in, and quickly press F2 key, pop up the following BIOS boot interface:

(Note: Explained below, the computer is started by default from the hard disk, but the virtual machine is now empty, so it is now set to boot through the CD to enter the installation interface)
As shown in the above picture, select the "Boot" menu and then put "CD-ROM Drive" on top by "+" on the keyboard, which starts first.
Then, as shown above, enter the Exit menu, select the second "exit discarding Changes", that is, do not save exit, press ENTER to confirm.

The following interface appears:
In the previous illustration, select the first item "Install CentOS 7" and press ENTER to confirm. After that, the following graphical installation interface pops up:
Select the language in Simplified Chinese, click "Continue" to eject the following interface:
Date and Time:
If you are installing an English version, you need to change the time zone to Shanghai. I installed the Chinese version, choose the default Shanghai time can be.
Keyboard:
English keyboard and Chinese keyboard layout is the same, the default can be.
Installation Source:
As you can see, the installation source is automatically detected, without modification, click Finish.
Software selection:
Personal users recommend choosing a desktop version, the server recommends selecting a minimal installation. I choose the desktop version here and install some software and tools as needed (I am fully installed anyway).
Network and host name:
Just open the network connection and click Finish.
Installation location:
Select "I want to configure the partition", click "Finish" in the upper left corner and go to the following interface:
As shown in the above illustration, the partitioning scheme selects standard partitions. and start mounting the partition:
Set the/boot partition to 200M:
Set the swap to 2G: (You don't have to modify the file system in this way, the default is swap)
Set the/home directory to 2G:
Finally, give the root partition/allocate all remaining space:
When you're done, click Finish in the upper-left corner, and the following interface appears:
Just accept the change.
The configuration is complete, click Start Installation:
During the installation process, we can set the root password, but also create a common account:
So, it's done.
