Operating System: Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition Windows XP Professional Edition (installed in a virtual machine)
I have installed Windows Server 2003 this semester. If an error occurs when Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 is installed and cannot be uninstalled, the system prompts that the installation is unsuccessful. However, we had to install Windows XP in the Virtual Machine. However, when we wanted to share Windows 2003 and Windows XP, the above error was displayed. After a long time, we tried several methods, finally. The possible solutions for such problems are summarized as follows:
1. Check whether the two computers to be shared are in the same working group.
If they are not in the same working group, they should be in the same working group;
2. Set up a home or small office network
Reset the working group where the two computers are located, because when "file and printer sharing" is set, the default option is "disable file and printer sharing ", make sure that "enable file and printer sharing" is selected during the setting ";
3. Check whether the firewalls of the two computers are enabled.
If enabled, both are disabled;
4. Enable the Guest user
In Windows XP, the guest user is disabled by default, and the check box before "Account Disabled" is removed, make it unselected (right-click "my computer"-> "management"-> System Tools-> "local users and groups"-> "user" to find guest, double-click to open and remove the check box from the "General" tab. This ensures that both Computers enable the Guest user at the same time.
5. view group policies
Start-> Run, enter "gpedit. MSC ", that is, open the Group Policy Editor, in" Computer Configuration "->" Windows Settings "->" Security Settings "->" Local Policy,
(1) double-click "User Rights Assignment" and find "access to this computer from network" on the right to see if "guest" exists. If not, add it; then, find "Deny access to this computer from the network" on the right to see if "guest" exists. If yes, delete it;
(2) double-click "Security Options" and find "Network Access: sharing and security mode of the Local Account" on the right ", check whether the selected parameter is "classic-Local User Authentication". If not, modify the parameter;
6. Share
In computer A, right-click the folder to be shared and select share and security ". On the "share" tab, select "share this folder" and click "permission" to open the permission interface for shared folders. At least everyone exists in "share permission, you can set permissions below to allow other computers to read-only the content in the shared folder or modify the content in the shared folder.
