Children returns the collection of child nodes for the specified element, containing only the HTML nodes.

ChildNodes returns a collection of child nodes that contain not only HTML nodes, but also attributes, text. NodeType can be used to determine what type of node, only when Nodetype==1 is the element node, 2 is an attribute node, and 3 is a text node. The number of element nodes can be judged by the following code.

            var list = document.getElementById ("Div1"). ChildNodes;            var count2 = 0;            for (i = 0;i<list.length;i++)                if (List[i].nodetype = = 1)                    Count2 + +;
