1. Prerequisites: The Exchange frontend and backend servers must be in the same Domain, and both the frontend and backend servers must run the Exchange2000 Enterprise Edition. Use the Exchange backend server as the domain controller and Global Catalog server. 2. Execute the Exchange2000 installation procedure, install the Exchange backend server, Exchange front-end server, configure the Exchange Front-End Server 3.1, open the Exchange System Manager (ESM), go to and select the server object, right-click and select properties, select: This is a front-end server, and then close the property page. 3.2 open ESM, find and remove public folder storage and mailbox storage, and then delete the storage group. 3.3 open ESM, go to and select the server object, right-click and select Properties> directory access, and check whether the domain controller and global cataloguing server are Exchange backend servers. 3.4 restart the computer or stop and restart the HTTP, POP, and IMAP services before you start to use the Exchange front-end server. 3.5 stop unwanted services: open management tools> service, stop and disable other Exchange-related services except the following services: World Wide Web Publishing service (HTTP) exchang POP3 (POP3Svc) Exchange System Attendant Service (MSExchangeSA) Exchange IMAP (IMAP4Svc) Exchange System ManagerExchange Routing EngineSMTPNNTP 4. Check whether the front-end server of Exchange is correct on the client: that is, the client access address is changed to the address of the Exchange front-end server. Check whether the client accesses the public folder and mailbox storage data is saved on the Exchange backend server, and the access is OK.
