1. Creates a new 560x400 pixel document with black as the background color. Select the Font tool, the color is white, select the Times New Roman in the Font list, set the font to Rugular, size 150Pt, anti-aliasing is "strong"; If you are not satisfied with the font size, you can adjust the font spacing and the free scaling tool. You can also use other font types, as long as the size is similar. Move to the bottom of the canvas with the Move tool. (image)



2. Note The method we use next, you may never know that Photoshop still has this usage, although rare, but it is a very useful skill! Create a new layer 1 on the text layer, hold down the ALT key, using the mouse to click on the layer command, found in the Drop-down menu "flattened visible layer", note that the ALT key and the mouse can not loose, you will see that the content of the new layer contains the following two layers of content, like a historical snapshot of all the visible layers of the image content, Merge them into one layer for easy editing while retaining the original layer without being corrupted. This is a good idea when you need to edit multiple layers and don't want to merge them. I didn't find this command in the Photoshop Command menu, but in the history panel you'll see that the command's name is called "stamped visible layer" and its shortcut is Shift+alt+ctrl+e, and in this case, it's going to be used many times. 5. Below we start coloring the flames. Color/saturation command for layer 1 coloring, this layer we use a bright orange, click "Coloring", set hue to 40, saturation of 100. (Figure 05)

7. Change the layer blending mode of layer 1 copy to "color Dodge" so that the red and orange are well blended, and the color of the flame comes out. (Figure 07)



8. Merge layer 1 copy and Layer 1 to form new Layer 1, we want to describe the appearance of the flame. One of the new features in the Photoshop6.0 version is liquefaction. With it, you can easily achieve fluid deformation without the use of any filter. Select "Liquefaction" under the image command, adjust the brush size to 50, pressure set to 40, paint the main flame in the image, and then adjust the brush and pressure smaller to draw the other small flames. You can work with the expansion squeeze and restore tool to draw a realistic flame appearance. If you are not satisfied, hold down ALT and the Cancel button becomes reset, and remember that when you open the Liquefaction Command dialog again, the last setting will be preserved and you can continue on the basis of the first time. 9. Ok, then we will continue to modify the flame, so that its internal and external flame fully fused, uniform color transition. Select the Smudge tool, use a medium flexible brush, set the pressure to 65%, gently smear on the flame, and constantly change the size and pressure of the pen to suit the different needs. The bottom of the flame to match the appearance of the font, do not change too much, otherwise it can not be combined with a good font. Also pay attention to the color of the flame, from the outer layer to the center in turn is red-yellow-white. This step is not difficult, the key lies in patience and meticulous, from the previous step to this step, all need hand-painted, this is the most energy-intensive work place, and no lazy can steal, we strive! 10. Well, after the flame's appearance is complete, the next work will be much easier. Copy the "Fire" layer, move the copy above Layer 1, and change the font color to black. In order to combine with the flame, we can move the flame layer slightly downward so that their bottom edges are basically aligned. (Figure 10)



11. Copy the flame layer, (i.e. layer 1),.Move it above the font copy layer and change the layer blending mode to "screen" so that the flame increases in brightness. Click the Add Mask button below the layers panel to add a mask to this layer. Set the color to front white and black, select the Gradient tool, set the gradient type to "foreground to background color", create a gradient in the mask, and the gradient range from the top of the text, so that the black text is gradually exposed. Copy the brighter layer and change the blending mode to "screen", which is a common way to build a luminous effect. It's a natural and gentle effect, much better than a layer pattern.

12. The flames are surrounded by smoke, and there are some transparent gases that make the flames look less clear, and we add some blur to simulate the effect. Create new Layer 2, stamp the visible layer as you just did, Gaussian blur, radius 50 pixels, set layer opacity to 50%, and blending mode to "screen." (Figure 12)



13. Now that the main part of the image has been completed, let's add some effect to it to make it look more lifelike. Create a new layer 3, seal the visible layer again, mix mode to "screen", and opacity to 60%, we take it as our reflection. Select Magnifier tool, hold down the ALT key, enlarge the function to shrink, click in the picture, until there is enough space around the image, as shown in Fig. 13, invert the reflection layer so that its top and other parts of the flame are basically connected, but leave a little space,.The mysterious effect appeared.
