The Apache Software Foundation decided to end its Apache C ++ standard library project, stdcxx.
This project is far from widely used in GCC libstdc ++ or even LLVM libc ++. Apache has been supporting stdcxx development since automatic 2005. This is a free open-source implementation library of ISO/IEC 14882 C ++ standards. This is what happens after rojiwave's open-source commercial implementation.
The latest version of stdcxx is 4.2.1, which was released in December 2008. This month, the ASF board of directors made a decision to stop development and support for this project. This decision is published through stdcxx mailing list.
Of course, such behavior will certainly sound of opposition. Some people say this is a stupid decision under bureaucracy, because the project has great potential.
