In the re-installation of the system, many of the time is first into the BIOS set into a U disk Startup items, and then install, if the age of a little, it is set to start the CD-ROM, and then carry out, with the implementation of time, the optical drive has begun to eliminate, but also miss the time of the previous CD-ROM installed! -:)
Start to get to the point: a very strange problem, in some preinstalled windows8.1 machine, and the hard disk format is GPT format, the BIOS does not actually have a U disk Startup items can be selected, leaving the Windows Boot Manager option. This may occur because the installation of windows8.1 will result in writing to the BIOS, and the machine I set up is the founder's big customer brand machine.
WORKAROUND: There are two approaches to this problem, one is Uefi shutdown, the other is to directly open the BIOS Quick Start menu, and then set the option to turn off the UEFI, then power on press F12 to bring up the Quick Start menu to select the USB flash drive (the BIOS may not have a U-disk entry, can only be started quickly)
1, the unified method of turning off Uefi, is also a common method on the market, I collected some information:

The above is the traditional way, may also be a solution, may wish to try.
2, a specific method for quick Start Select the U-disk start, the following is my founder big customer brand on-machine settings:
Press Del to enter BIOS, set secure Boot to Disabled on the tab page of authentication
Before setting:
After setting:
Set the launch CSM item to always on the boot options:
Before setting:
After setting:
Last set two options to ON, boot menu, fast boot, quiet boot to Enabled (Note: This option some machines may not be so much, that means to open)
After opening:
Complete the setup, press F10 save option and restart the computer, press F12 when restarting (some computers may be f8/f9, etc.) into the Quick Launch menu, note that there is a U-disk option (norelsys106x is my U-disk):
With the above settings, the problem is resolved.
Summary: In fact, the above settings are one of my colleagues found, at first I also set up, but from my years of experience should be impossible to succeed, did not expect to be able to set up, the ultimate success of the U disk started. Therefore, in the installation system and set up the BIOS, must be more hands-on, do not fear the trouble, after all, the program is dead, the options are so many, try a few more may be different results.
The BIOS only starts with a USB drive under Windows Boot Manager
