You can view the editor options by selecting thePropertiesmenu item from the right-click menu in Code Editor. Also available from the main menu "Tools | Editor Options ... The Open Editor Options dialog box. Such as:

Each page is described below.

1. General Page

These two pages are used to control how the editor works. These include many options.

The "Editor speedsetting" combo box below the page allows you to select multiple settings from the inside, such as:

If you change the settings of this combo box, the "Editor options" above will change accordingly.

"Undo Limit" Undo step settings, set to 32767 to meet the overwhelming majority of requirements, generally do not have to modify this setting.

Thefind text at cursoroption is always selected, and when this option is selected, the body of the edit cursor is automatically placed in the text to Find field of the dialog box when the Find Text dialog box is called. This does not require entering the body you are looking for, which speeds up the speed.

2. Source Options Page

The "Block indent" and "tabstops" options at the bottom are used to set the number of indents when indented and the number of blocks that the TAB key skips, typically set to 2 characters.

The type of file that is used in "Extensions" to select which syntax to highlight. For example, a user might not want to highlight a regular text file (*.txt) that is open in Code Editor, so there is no. txt file type in the default settings.

3. Display Page

"Display and fileoptions", you will see the "BRIEF cursor shapes" option, select this option if you want the cursor in the editor window to be a horizontal cursor instead of a vertical cursor.

If you want users to create backup files each time they save their files or projects, you can select theCratebackup File option, which starts with a tilde (~) extension. For example, the source file Myapp.pas backup file is Myapp.~pa.

Note

Anyway I feel like backup files are extremely annoying because they always mess up the directory where the project is located. Therefore, you prefer to turn off the file backup option.

TheZoomto full screen option controls the action of the Code editor when it is being greatly initialized. When this option is selected, it fills the entire screen when you make the code Editor large, and if you do not select this option (the default setting), the top of the Code Editor window stops at the bottom of the Delphi main window when the Code Editor window is greatly minimized. In other words, if you do not select this option, the Delphi main window is always visible when the code Editor is greatly minimized.

The "Visible right margin" is used to display a boundary at the editor's left edge, but you can still enter the body outside the boundary, which is just a tick that prompts the user to enter a line that is not too long. Such as:

Thevisible gutteroption is used to determine whether to bring a visible trench and the width of the groove in pixels.

You can also change the "Editor font" option to select the most appropriate font and size.

4. Key Mappings Page

You can quickly switch the keyboard mapping mode, and you can set the enhancement module in "enhancement modules".

5. Color page

The code page allows the user to fully customize the Code Editor window and syntax highlighting options, as shown above.

The "color speedsetting" combo box for the head, which lists the following predefined color formats for the user to select. As follows:

You can choose one of the color formats, or you can use one of the color formats as the basis for creating your own color format.

The color page is easy to use, with a text window at the bottom of the page that contains a preview of the sample code. Click on any element in the code preview and the selected element in the "element" list box will be highlighted. To change the foreground, background, and body properties, just select the settings you like.

6. Code Insight page

The Code Insight page is used to allow or disallow the use of "code completion", "Code Parameters", "Tooltip expression evaluation "and"Tooltip symbol Insight".

The scroll bar labeled "delay" is used to set the delay time for which the above four code features function.
