My unit has a B/s system, only compatible with IE8, so the client has not been able to upgrade to Win7. A few days ago, accidentally learned Windowsxpmode, decided to try.
Windowsxpmode is a virtual machine integrated with XP (SP3) under Win7, primarily to use the original XP version of the application and IE8 and the following versions on Win7.
1, according to the information on the Internet, first confirm whether the CPU support virtualization. If supported, and the virtualization option is turned on in the BIOS, you do not have to install the upgrade patch windows6.1-kb977206 when the CPU does not support virtualization under Win7, otherwise this patch must be installed. But when I installed it, the CPU supported virtualization, but it didn't turn on the option, and I didn't have the KB977206 patch installed, and then it worked. It is important to note that after the installation is complete, the option to turn on the CPU to support virtualization will not work properly.
2. Install virtual PC (i.e. windows6.1-kb958559 patch).
3, Installation Windowsxpmode_zh-cn.exe
4. Set up: Shared disk, auto-release program, Auto Power Off (see Help documentation for specific methods)
5. Start the virtual machine and copy the program shortcuts that need to be published to WIN7 to the Start menu \ Programs folder in all Usres.
6, in the beginning of Win7, all the program menu can find the published program, directly Click to run (the first run in the background automatically start the virtual machine, so slower). When off, simply click the Close button in the upper right corner, just like the application under Win7.
The IE8 is still used through windowsxpmode,win7
