An introduction to the principle of intimacy

The principle of intimacy: the related items are organized together, moving them so that their physical location is close to each other, so that the related items will be treated as a group of agglutination, not a bunch of unrelated fragments.

If some information items or groups are not associated with each other, these elements should not be close to intimacy (that is, should not be near), which will give the reader a visual hint that the reader immediately understand the organization and content of the page.

If multiple items are close to each other, they become a visual unit, not multiple isolated elements, as in real life, intimacy (i.e. tight type) implies an association.

From the point of view of understanding how to use intimacy, and how to collect a part of the information into the corresponding group, all you have to do is to use this technique specifically to the actual page, using white to group the elements.

Two fundamental purposes

The purpose of intimacy is to be organized, although other principles can do the same, but by using the principle of intimacy, it is possible to automatically achieve rationality and organization by simply grouping relevant elements in a group to create closer intimacy. If the information is organized, it will be easier to read and easier to remember, and there is a good by-product, using the principle of intimacy, to make the gap more beautiful.

Three how to achieve

Vivian narrowed her eyes, counted the number of pauses in your eyes to count the number of elements on the page, and if the items on the page are more than five, look at the isolated elements that can be grouped into a set of closer intimacy, making it a visual unit

Four things to avoid

1. Don't put elements in the corner and center just because there is a gap

2. Avoid having too many isolated elements on a page

3. Do not leave blank spaces of the same size between elements unless each group belongs to a subset

4. Title, sub-title, chart title, can the picture be classified into its related materials? It is important to be very clear on this issue (even if it is only a little vague) to establish a relationship between elements that are close to intimacy.

5. Do not establish a relationship between elements of a group of different genera! If the elements are not related to each other, separate them.

Five Summary

If there is close intimacy between multiple items, they will become a visual unit instead of multiple orphaned elements, and the related items should be grouped together, with a conscious attention to how you read, how your gaze shifts: Where to start, along what path, where to end, after reading, and where to look next? The whole process should be a reasonable process, with a definite beginning, and a definite end.

Grouping the same attributes into a set of visual trajectories (we look at things like seeing ordered transactions). This gives people a sense of calm and security, as well as an attention to expression of information.

Use the left-white partition with no related attributes
