Everything works. However, a problem occurs after u8 is installed, that is, the IP address of the server on which pingu8 is accessible, but the Host Name of the server cannot be pinged. What is the problem?

 

1. If you can ping the IP address of the other party or other machines, the network physical connection is normal. It also indicates that the TCP/IP protocol configuration of the machine is correct. Otherwise, Ping fails.

 

2. Based on the user experience of u8, the client is not sensitive to the Host Name of the u8 server. In the system disk/system32/Drivers/etc, use text to open the hosts, add the local host + space + local name (127.0.0.1 localhost), you can also add the Host Name and corresponding IP address of the server. After that, the u8 client fails to connect to the server many times. This is where the client cannot identify the server. But this time the problem is still not solved. It does not appear that the IP address corresponds to the host name.

 

3. Right-click Network Neighbor-properties, right-click Local Connection-properties, and double-click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) on the General tab ), in the displayed dialog box, click the "advanced" button in the lower-right corner on the General tab to go to the "Advanced TCP/IP Settings" dialog box and view the NetBIOS settings. When the host cannot be pinged, but the IP address can be pinged, the DHCP server is allocated incorrectly, but it is normal to automatically obtain the IP address and access the internet, it indicates that the preceding settings are correct. The host name can be pinged. Our network was built using VPN, and many office sites used a unified office platform. At that time, this problem also occurred during VPN setup, the IP address can be normally obtained in one office location and can be connected to the public network. However, after changing the office location, the local IP address cannot be resolved normally and cannot be connected to the public network.

 

5. Check whether the firewall has been disabled (Control Panel-Windows Firewall ).

 

6. If the IP address is a fixed IP address, check whether the IP address is in the same network segment as the subnet mask and default gateway. Sometimes a letter may be typed when you accidentally press the keyboard, which may lead to various problems.

 

7. Check whether simple file sharing is selected. Choose tools> folder option> View> simple file sharing on my computer.
