New virtual machines, the default boot order is hard disk first, CD third. But the new virtual machine hard disk has not been partitioned, no boot record, so the default will skip the hard disk, and go to find the next bootable device, will eventually find the disc and boot, and install.
But after the installation and restart will not find the operating system, this is because the hard disk has been partitioned, the boot signal, or the hard disk partition when the partition is not activated, the virtual machine found the partition of the hard disk, but has not been activated, so the virtual machine will stop, will not skip.
