The printer driver cannot be installed.

During the installation of the HP 1518 inkjet printer (print/scan/copy all-in-one) driver on Windows XP, the author encountered the problem that the driver could not be installed because the specified module was not found, I tried the other methods I found on the Internet and failed to solve the problem n times. I finally solved the problem by consulting HP technical support staff. It turns out to be Microsoft. NET Framework 3.5, although I have already installed this module, it may be caused by conflicts or problems with other software installed. Just download and install the module again and reinstall it. This problem has plagued me for two days. I would like to share my experience here and hope to help my friends who have the same problem as me: PS: 1518 belongs to the 1510 series inkjet printer, therefore, the method 1510 and 1511 inkjet printer in this article should also be used.

If you have installed a printer driver, uninstall it and restart the system.

Be sure to unplug the printer's USB data cable and try again when prompted to connect to the printer!

Check whether the Print Spooler service is enabled.

The method is as follows:

Choose "Control Panel"> "Administrative Tools"> "services" from the menu, and find "Print Spooler" in the service to check whether the status is "started;

If it is not started, right-click this item, select Properties, change the start type to "automatic", and click the start button below the service status to start it.

Download and install Microsoft. NET Framework 3.5 (if you have installed Microsoft. NET Framework before, download and install it again ).

The method is as follows:

Baidu searches for net 3.5. The first one is download;

Run the downloaded Microsoft. NET Framework 3.5 installer for installation;

(If you have already installed it, you can choose to fix it or uninstall it and then reinstall it. Here, I choose repair ;)

Restart your computer after installation or repair is complete.

Start the printer.

Without connecting to the printer's USB data cable, turn on the printer's power switch and make it ready to start first. During this period of time, let's proceed to the next step to install the driver.

Install the driver.

Run the official driver software and go to step 2. When the "continue" button appears, you can connect to the USB data cable of the printer.

Note: Do not click "continue" in this step.

Connect the USB data cable of the printer.

Wait until the printer starts up. After a printer connection prompt appears during driver installation, connect the printer USB data cable to the computer.

After the data line is connected, the system will automatically identify the printer, and the "Find new hardware wizard" dialog box will pop up. Do not operate on this dialog box temporarily, drag it aside for use.

Continue to install the driver.

Click "continue" in step 2 of the driver.

The installer starts USB connection at this time. Please wait for 3 ~ 5 minutes.

Add new hardware.

If the installation program remains in the USB connection status after waiting in the previous step, the "Find new hardware wizard" dialog box will be available.

Select "Install" from the list or specified location, and click "Next" to install it gradually.

At this step, there should be no problem. Execute and install the Universal Serial Bus Controller 1510 series printer driver in turn, after the new hardware is successfully added, the installation program will automatically perform subsequent installation.
