The host-only mode of the VMware Virtual Machine officially states that it cannot connect to the Internet, and the bridged mode is acceptable.
However, ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) can also be used to connect to the Internet, without the need for bridge.
Purpose: Suitable for MAC Address binding in a network environment. If you use the bridged mode, the network administrator needs to bind the MAC address and occupy an IP resource!
Update:
After VMware is installed, two NICs are virtualized:
VMware network adepter vmnet1: Virtual Network Card used by the host to communicate with the host-only virtual network
VMware network adepter vmnet8: Virtual Network Card used by the host to communicate with the NAT Virtual Network
Set ICS on the network card that can access the Internet, and select VMware network adepter vmnet1
Note: the IP address of VMware network adepter vmnet1 is automatically changed to 192.168.137.1.
Set the IP address in the virtual machine to This CIDR Block and set the gateway to 192.168.137.1.
