Computer Room engineering integrates multiple professional technologies such as construction, electrical, installation, and network. The environment of the computer room must meet the requirements of computer and other computer and electronic equipment and staff for temperature, humidity, cleanliness, electromagnetic field strength, fire protection, security, power quality, lightning protection and grounding. The advantages and disadvantages of the design and construction of the computer room are directly related to whether the computer system in the room can operate stably and reliably, whether it can ensure smooth communication of various types of information, and whether it can ensure protection security.

The computer room project includes the decoration project, power distribution project, air conditioning project, wiring project, fire protection project, grounding lightning protection, security protection, and other parts. In fact, the construction of the IDC is limited by factors such as the size, importance, and economic capacity. In our small and medium-sized enterprise network equipment rooms, we should do our best.

IDC layout requirements

1. the IDC location should be conducive to personnel entry and exit and equipment handling. The IDC room should include the master room, basic work room, first-class auxiliary room, second-class auxiliary room, and third-class auxiliary room.

(1) master data center

Installation site of computer hosts, network devices, Operation consoles, and main external devices (hosts, tape drives, Communication Controllers, monitors, etc.

(2) Basic work room

The premises for completing information processing and necessary technical operations. These include: terminal room, data entry room, communication machine room, recorded magnetic media library, recorded paper media library, laser printer, Wide Row printer, and drawing machine.

(3) Level 1 auxiliary room

Premises that directly serves computer hardware maintenance and software research. Including: hardware maintenance room, software analysis and modification room, instrument and meter room, spare database, random data room, non-recorded magnetic media library, non-recorded paper media library, hardware Personnel Office, software personnel office, computer preparation room and external user studio.

(4) Secondary rooms

To ensure that the electronic computer room meets the requirements of various technical environments, all public professional technical rooms are required. These include: transformer room, high and low voltage power distribution room, uninterruptible power supply room, battery room, generator room, air conditioner Room, fire extinguishing equipment room and security control room.

(5) Third-class auxiliary rooms

Auxiliary components used for life and health purposes. Including: dressing room, lounge, bathroom, etc.

2. All devices in the device room should have sufficient installation space, including computer hosts and network connection devices. The Rack must have at least MB of space before and after it is installed to facilitate equipment installation, commissioning, and maintenance.

3. The data center height must be at least 3 m under the beam to prevent the rack from being too high, which is not conducive to equipment installation and maintenance.

4. The floor of the IDC room must bear sufficient weight, especially the upstairs IDC room. For heavy equipment (such as a DC battery), channel steel should be placed under the rack to disperse gravity.

5. the top, walls, doors, windows, and floors of the IDC room shall not fall off or dust-free. The decorative materials shall be non-combustible materials. Where integrated wiring hardware is installed, the walls and canopy shall be coated with flame retardant paint. Doors and windows are well sealed to prevent the invasion of dust, harmful gases or particles of other substances, resulting in poor contact or short circuit of metal contacts, affecting the performance of computers and other equipment. Dust-proof paint should be applied to walls and ceilings.

6. The environment in the IDC must maintain a certain degree of humidity and temperature, and have good ventilation conditions. To this end, the IDC room should be equipped with professional air conditioners and exhaust fans to meet the temperature and humidity requirements for normal operation of computers and other equipment. The room temperature between devices should be kept between 10 ℃ and 25 ℃, and the relative temperature should be kept between 60% and 80%.

7. The data center should have anti-static measures. Anti-static floors should be laid in the IDC. The floor is installed with copper strip.

8. The data center shall have reliable working grounding, protection grounding, and anti-lightning grounding. Good grounding is a necessary condition for the normal operation of the equipment. It is also an important means of anti-static, anti-lightning, anti-interference, and elimination of induction power. We should pay full attention to it. Anti-static and lightning protection are one of the most important disaster prevention measures in the data center.

9. uninterruptible power supplies should be used between devices to prevent network communication interruption caused by power outages, and host shutdown may be abnormal. UPS power supply should provide no less than 2 hours of backup power supply capacity. The UPS power should be calculated based on the power of the network equipment, with a margin of 20-30%. The power supply equipment between devices should have the over-voltage and over-flow protection function to prevent adverse effects and impacts on the equipment.

10. fire prevention measures should be taken for the IDC. Appropriate fire-fighting equipment must be provided in the IDC room. The sockets with different voltage in the IDC room should have obvious signs. It is strictly prohibited to store inflammable, explosive, and other dangerous articles and corrosive articles.
