Beijing time February 25 morning news, according to foreign media reported in Friday, a U.S. judge recently dismissed the Privacy protection group on Google (Weibo) privacy policy, she stressed that she has no right to order the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to intervene in Google.

U.S. District Court Judge Amy Bermain Jackson (Amy Berman Jackson) said in a Friday ruling in Washington that Congress did not confer jurisdiction on the Federal Court to oversee the implementation of the Federal Trade Commission.

The Privacy Protection Group Electronic Privacy Information Center (Electronic Privacy Information Center, Short: EPIC), sued on February 8, accusing Google of amending its privacy policy in violation of its obligation to protect consumer private information.

In her ruling, Jackson said: "Epic and many other individuals and organizations have been closely tracking and attention to this incident, these acts are legitimate." The FTC, however, told the court that they were working on the issue and might have done so after the study was completed. ”

Google announced its new plan for January 24 this year, which will unify its privacy policy for 60 of its services and products, including YouTube and the Android smartphone's privacy policy. The company said the plan would come into effect on March 1, a move that would help simplify the terms of the user agreement.

Epic accuses the program of allowing Google to get more information about its users and consolidate it, while also providing more user information to advertisers, while reducing the user's control over their own data. Google denies it and insists it will not disclose any user information to third parties.
