The micro-HDMI interface that comes with ThinkPad 8 is an external monitor. In the copy mode, it can only be displayed in portrait (portrait) mode and cannot achieve the maximum resolution.

The maximum resolution is only 1152*864 (the maximum resolution of the external display shown in the figure below is 1920*1200 or 1920*1080)

Solution:

 
1. update the graphics card driver to 10.18.10.3383 or later. You can download the 603.9600 or later Intel platform driver from the Lenovo official website to install and update the graphics card driver, or install and update the Intel platform driver through the system update software.

2. Download and install the Microsoft patch KB2919355, For details, refer to the official Microsoft Knowledge Base>

 

 

This patch package can be downloaded and installed separately or through windows update. If you need to pay attention to the installation instructions on the patch download page when downloading and installing the patch separately, you must install the necessary patches in advance in a certain order:

 

 

Patch installation may take a long time and requires patience. After the patch is installed, you may need to restart the operating system. Please save and close the running files or programs in advance.

 

Other considerations:

 

1. Select horizontal screen display in system settings: Right-click the desktop, select screen resolution, and select orientation;

 

 

2. If the problem persists through the above method, try the following method: Use windows update to update all system patches and use system update to update all drivers;

 

3. If the external display mode cannot be set through the "super menu-device" or "win + P" method, set the copy or extension mode in the video card settings to confirm whether the problem is resolved;

 

4. Check the Display/connection line/adapter and replace these parts for testing. If it is not an official Lenovo component, there may be compatibility issues. For example, during the testing in this department, an external ASUS and a Samsung Display cannot be properly displayed.
