In Python, iterable is considered an object that can return one of its members at a time (that is, the elements inside the object), so that the string,list,tuple,dict,file,xrange in Python is iterative. All belong to the Iterable object, and the iterated object can be traversed, and in fact many of the iterable types in Python are generated using the ITER () function.
