After a month, the author bought a Kindle, found that the goods have a proprietary E-book format, where everyone prefers Mobi format. In order to find resources, have to blend in various Kindle forum. Then accidentally found that we can also edit the production of Mobi E-books, here to do a simple tutorial, is to give feedback to all kinds of love book people.
I now use the system is the MATE version of the LinuxMint 17.2, the other version of the same, I believe that we will be able to digest, well, nonsense not to say, start the body.
For MATE desktops, the default text editor is Pluma. Sometimes we open a TXT file, will find garbled, or not open the phenomenon, this is because the system does not correspond to the code, we have to gradually solve.
1. Install Dconf-tools:
The code is as follows:
sudo apt-get install Dconf-tools
2. In the menu: System Tools to find the "dconf System Configuration Editor" and open, on the left side of the editor click "Org/mate/pluma", find the place we need to modify.
We can see the encoding that appears in the "Auto-detected-encodings" on the right, and the default is ' UTF-8 '. We need to manually add ' GB18030 ', ' GBK ', ' GB2312 ' These three encodings: double click on the right side of the "value" option, the slot box to add the above three kinds of coding. The following figure:
Then click on the keyboard Enter key to determine.
Regarding the configuration Pluma coding problem, if feels complex, may install the software Leafpad directly to replace Pluma.
3. Open the Software Manager, search the software calibre and install it.
OK, all the preparations are complete and we'll start the next step.
4. Will have downloaded a good txt, using Pluma (or Leafpad) Open, click "File-Save as", and select the character encoding as "UTF-8."
5. Open the software calibre (in the menu: Office Options), click on the top left corner "add Books", select TXT ebook and click "Open"
Then click "Convert Book".
The following figure, you can see the upper left corner input format for TXT (source file), the upper-right corner of the output format to Mobi (to export the format), and then the title below, the author can edit their own. After setting up click on the bottom right corner of "OK", the software began to work ...
So when is the conversion complete, as shown in the following figure, when the "task" in the lower right corner shows the amount of 0 o'clock, which means that all transitions are complete.
So the question is, where are we going with the converted books? Right-click the book in the Directory box, choose "Open Directory", one, you can enter the corresponding folder.
However, we will see that we converted good books, Chinese characters are all displayed in pinyin, that is to say, do not support the Chinese display, but this is harmless, we can extract the ebook, two times named.
Finally, I used to extract the converted Mobi file and remove all the files from the Calibre Library.
