The most streamlined Linux Live CD version: Minimal Linux Live

The most streamlined Linux live is a series of Linux shell scripts that automatically generate the most streamlined live Linux system based on the Linux kernel and busybox. All the required source code has been downloaded automatically, and all the build operations have been completely encapsulated in the script.

If you want to customize the ISO image file for your most streamlined Linux Live, here's what you need to do:

• Get the latest script from the download area.

• Unzip the script into the folder.

• Make sure that all scripts are executable (you can use the command chmod +x *.sh to add execution properties)

• Before you start the build process, depending on what Linux system you are using, there may be one or more dependent libraries (or perhaps no need, or more) that need to be processed. If you use Ubuntu, the following commands should be sufficient to generate all the required dependent libraries:

1. sudo apt-get install wget
2. sudo apt -get install make
3. sudo apt-get install GCC
4. sudo apt- install BC
5. sudo Apt-get install syslinux
6. sudo apt-get install Genisoimage

• Execute the script build_minimal_linux_live.sh and wait for the completion. If you have processed all of the build dependent libraries, then the entire process on a modern computer should take no more than 30 minutes. If the build fails for some reason, it is most likely that the build dependent library is not handled well. Some users reacting to the necessary packages for the build will handle all unknown build dependency issues on Ubuntu. If you are using Linux Mint and are trying to install the g++ package, if you still have a lot of problems, you can try to install the necessary packages. You may need to install the Glibc-static package on the Fedora system.

  Please remember that all build dependent libraries vary greatly depending on the Linux operating system you use and the software you have installed.

  If you still have a problem, check the failure information and search for it on Google. If you can't find a solution, you can ask some more experienced Linux experts (if you know it), or another option is to contact us. Please make sure that you have studied this issue in advance before sending it to us.

• When the script finishes their work, you will find a newly created minimal_linux_live.iso file in the same directory where the script was executed. You can burn an ISO image to a CD/DVD, install to a USB flash memory device via the Universal USB Installer tool, or run directly on a PC's virtual machine, such as VirtualBox.

The resulting ISO image file includes the Linux kernel compiled with the default options, BusyBox compiled with the default options, and a very lightweight initramfs. This means you don't have to go for Windows support or use any fancy desktop environment. All you need is a shell console that supports BusyBox applets, and ... All right. That's enough. That is why it is called "the most streamlined".

The best news is that not only is the operating system very small, it is simple, and the generated script is equally dainty. You can easily learn from scripting and modify them to include more content (I encourage you to do so). After you have learned these basics, you will have all the tools and skills you need to create your own fully functioning Linux operating system! It's completely zero-based!?:)
