Microsoft's first thought was to redesign word layout to make it look more beautiful on the digital screen, the company said in Word's official blog. Microsoft says it will ultimately be a flexible layout, "We divided the original files into horizontal columns." The size of each column is the optimal length based on the current font and window size adjustment.
Word 2013 's text and picture scaling are also improved, and the content of the text can be scaled freely so that it is easy to read under any layout, and images and table classes can be scaled separately.
Microsoft has also added two background colors to the Word2013 reading model, which can make the file more prominent. One is a dark brown, and one is specially designed for reading in the dim light environment for the black background of white lettering.
Other reading features in Word 2013 also include the "Resume reading" feature, which allows users to return to the place where they left off and continue reading, even if they are not operating on the same computer.
There is also an annotation, interpretation function that can provide the definition of the selected words, synonyms and even pronunciation. Word2013 even allows users to add quick annotations to their documents.
