In SQL Server database , if the query database has the index of the specified name or foreign key constraints, etc., often use the object_id (' name ', ' type ') method, take notes as follows:

?

Syntax: object_id (' objectname ') or object (' objectname ', ' type ')

Role: The function returns the ID value of the specified object and can be validated in the sysobjects table.

Where the objectname data type is char or nchar. If the data type of object is char, then it is implicitly converted to nchar.

Type the following list:

AF = Aggregate function (CLR)
C = CHECK constraint
D = DEFAULT (constraint or stand-alone)
F = FOREIGN KEY con Straint
FN = sql scalar function
FS = Assembly (CLR) scalar-function
FT = Assembly (CLR) table-valued function
IF = sql inline table-valued function
IT = Internal table
P = sql Stored Procedure
PC = Assembly (CLR) stored-procedure
PG = Plan Guide
PK = PRIMARY KEY constraint
R = Rule (Old-style, stand-alone)
RF = replication-filter-procedures = System base table
SN = synonym
SQ = Service queue
TA = Assembly (CLR) DML trigger
TF = sql table-valued-function
TR = sql DML trigger
U = Table ( user-defined)
UQ = UNIQUE constraint
V = View
X = Extended stored procedure

?

Examples are as follows:

Select object_id (' fk_xxx_xx ', ' F ') takes out the ID value with the constraint named Fk_xxx_xx, such as returning 144444444.

The above statement is equivalent:

Select ID from sysobjects where name= ' fk_xxx_xx ' and type= ' F '

=======================================================================================

As we all know, there is a system table sysobjects in the database, which stores information about each object in the database. Can be queried to see the results. You can see that each object has an ID that stores information about tables, stored procedures, triggers, views, and so on. Note: The field does not have.

OBJECT_ID is the ID of the object that is returned based on the object name.
object_name returns the object name based on the object ID.

Select Object_ID (object name) is equivalent to:
Select ID from sysobjects wherename= object name

Select object_name (ID number) is equivalent to:
Select name from sysobjects where id=id number

This function is supported in SQL SERVER2000 or later versions.
