The object_id () function in SQL SERVER

There is a system table sysobjects in the database, which stores information about each object in the database. Can be queried to see the results. You can see that each object has an ID that stores information about tables, stored procedures, triggers, views, and so on. Note: The field does not have.

OBJECT_ID is the ID of the object that is returned based on the object name.
object_name returns the object name based on the object ID.

Select Object_ID (object name) is equivalent to:
Select id from sysobjects where name= object name

Select object_name (ID number) is equivalent to:
Select name from sysobjects where id=id number

This function is supported in SQL SERVER version 2000 or later.
