BKJIA comprehensive report: Nokia held a two-day Nokia World September 14 and developer summit at the London Convention and Exhibition Center on December 31, 2010, Beijing time. Unlike the previous Nokia World, this Conference is just like the departure of Nokia's former CEO Kang peikai xuanbu and the new CEO Stephen Elop is coming soon. Just one day before the conference, anssi Vanjoki, head of Nokia's smartphone business, announced his departure.
According to BKJIA's 2010 mobile app developer survey, the number of iPhone and Android apps is currently the largest for smart mobile platforms. However, it is worth noting that in terms of device ownership, Symbian and Java ME, headed by Nokia, are still dominant and the gap is huge. Applications on the new platform are growing much faster than those on devices, and users have more options. However, although the old platform has a wide range of users, the number of applications is limited and the growth is slow, this is Nokia's heart disease in recent years.
Number of mobile phone devices and applications on each platform
Nokia World deserves our attention in the following aspects:
◆ Peter Skillman, the design core of the original Palm Pre team, announced that he joined Nokia and became the director of the MeeGo department. Skillman is widely acclaimed for the design of Palm Pre and webOS.
◆ Nokia's software Store Ovi Store will provide services in more than 190 countries and regions.
◆ The QT development framework provides a better encapsulation mechanism and modular functions, which can streamline the code of 70% of the program.
The focus of Nokia World is Symbian ^ 3. Nokia said the sales target of Symbian ^ 3 is 50 million units. At present, it has reached a subsidy sales agreement with more than 100 operators. Considering that the Symbian ^ 4 model will be available in the second half of next year, this goal is not low.
New Symbian ^ 3 family
Three new Symbian ^ 3 are released at the Conference: E7, C7, C6-01. Although the configurations and parameters of the three mobile phones are roughly the same as those of the previous N8 release, it marks the official debut of Symbian ^ 3 and has become the main market force of Nokia for a period of time.
About Symbian ^ 3
Symbian ^ 3 is the latest version of Nokia's smartphone software. It introduces support for hand movements such as multi-touch, touch-scroll, and scaling. Nokia N8 is the first mobile phone carrying Symbian ^ 3. The new 2D and 3D graphic architecture on the Symbian ^ 3 platform fully utilizes the hardware acceleration capability of Nokia N8 to support faster and more responsive user interfaces. The memory management capability of Symbian ^ 3 has also been greatly improved, allowing more applications to run at the same time, bringing users a faster multi-task processing experience.
