The Operating System gateway settings do not affect 11.2RAC.

By default, 11.2 does not ping the gateway to check whether the public network is available. Therefore, the gateway setting does not affect 11.2 RAC.


After 11.2, you can directly change the gateway without modifying GI. That is to say, no gateway information is recorded in GI.

However, if you want to modify the gateway and restart the network service (this is the OS requirement. If you want to restart the network service, please consult the OS technical support), this will affect the normal operation of GI.
Therefore, it is recommended that you modify the gateway when the service can be stopped.

If you do not disable GI, resources such as ora.net VIP will go down when you restart the NIC.
